Ongoing sewage issues in a village have pressured one resident to depend on utilizing a commode stuffed with cat litter, a council assembly was instructed.

People residing in Grimston, close to King’s Lynn, Norfolk, have struggled for months with blocked bathrooms and sewage of their properties, they mentioned.

During a gathering organised by Grimston Parish Council on 8 April, an 87-year-old lady shared how she was unable to make use of her bathroom as a result of it was so backed up, forcing her to make use of a commode.

An Anglian Water spokesperson mentioned the problem was a part of a broader flooding downside and it will work with different authorities to place a plan in place for the village to “deal with these points”.

Liberal Democrat borough councillor Rob Colwell mentioned residents felt “lots of anger”.

Mark Dye, Grimston parish councillor and Gaywood River campaigner, mentioned: “Whilst I admire 2024 noticed report ranges of rainfall, the issues within the three villages have been getting worse for years.
