Talk about relishing the second – the Rose Parade second, that’s. A neighborhood cat adoption group topped the queen of Tail Town Kitty Catnip Court over the weekend, with the assistance of the Rose Parade Royal Court.
The kitty queen? Her title is Eleven, and able to be adopted.
“I’ve never lost my drive to figure out what’s going on in there, even when they close the bathroom door,” the cat was quoted as “saying.”
That’s proper. It was 2024 Tournament of Roses royalty — Trinity Dela Cruz, Phoebe Ho, Rose Court Queen Naomi Stillitano, Emmerson Tucker, and Olivia Bohanec — meets feline royalty in an occasion on Dec. 9 hosted by Pasadena-based Tail Town Catnip Cafe, a foster operation that opened in 2021 to search out properties for adoption-ready cats.
And being in Pasadena, properly, it was an excellent time to call a “Kitty Court,” with a purpose of that includes a “wonderful group of adoptable cats” ready for “fur-ever properties.
So the folks at Catnip Cafe held public voting in the beginning of the month, culminating in a queen, and her court docket, overseen by Court cat Chaperone Emeritus Miss Yvonne.
There was:
- Aubree – “You don’t have to be perfect, you just have to chase the red dot”
- Bianca – “Standing before you as a beacon of all that is wonderful, you may be left speechless”
- Cadbury – “I’m here for the free pizza”
- Schmookie – “I would love to wear a crown and fancy pearls”
- Reseda – “This is a reminder of how far I’ve come and also a reminder of the naps ahead”
The women-owned and operated facility gives cats with an open, 2,000-square-foot area, the place as much as 40 cats can roam freely, meet with potential adopters and most people that’s excited about a fast kitty repair or distant work location.
The Rose Court themselves proceed to go to the group as ambassadors for the Tournament of Roses. Of course, you’ll see them once more on Jan. 1, the Rose Parade.
