Please inform me that your November 7 story was an April Fool’s joke, (“Jury awards nearly $1.4M to man whose kitty was ‘catnapped’ by Portland landlord,” Nov. 3).
These are the information as reported within the article: For a few years, a renter stored a cat in his room in violation of his rental settlement. The landlord eliminated the cat and the cat was taken to a shelter, which situated the cat’s microchip and reunited it with its earlier proprietor. The renter who had been holding the cat suffered “emotional distress.” The jury determined he deserved over $1 million as a result of he not had the cat that he had stored in violation of his lease.
What am I lacking? Is there extra to the story? The quantity of that award is past comprehension.
