OKLAHOMA CITY – An unusual. leopard kitten went into the world at the Oklahoma City Zoo.
Zoo authorities said the mom, Rukai, brought to life her male kitten on July 18 following a nearly-90 day gestation duration.
The zoo participates of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA’s) Species Survival Plan for leopards.

The association said kitten’s birth is “considerable” and the very first for the susceptible types in 2023.
The kitten is apparently healthy and succeeding. Zoo authorities said when the kitten is of age, he will be transferred to another AZA-accredited center.
According to the Smithsonian, the leopards stay in the forests of Southeast Asia and is among the most ancient cat types.

However, leopards cannot holler or purr. Their population has actually reduced due to poaching and environment loss, according to the Smithsonian.
