A brand new exhibition of art work in a store and cafe includes a well-known portray of Felix, the Huddersfield Railway Station cat.
The portrait of Felix, which was unveiled on the station in 2016, is the centrepiece of an exhibition by acclaimed Outlane artist, cartoonist and animator Rob Martin.
The exhibition is on present within the cafe at Roebuck Home & Garden in Ruth Street, Newsome.
Roebuck Home & Garden, run by backyard designer Richard Roebuck, opened in September within the former Kirkwood Hospice store within the village.
Richard advised how Rob had grow to be an everyday customer to the store and he talked about the portray after Felix sadly handed away in early December.
The portray – of Felix carrying a Bronte era-style costume – had been in storage and Rob requested if Richard want to show it within the store.
The thought grew from there and Rob created a small exhibition of his work, which additionally consists of three new work, a metropolis panorama, some digital art work and a few cartoons.

Richard mentioned: “We have simply opened slightly cafe within the store serving espresso, tea and cake and the exhibition area matches properly in there.
“People recognise Felix, of course, and we’ve had a great response from people who want to find out more about Rob’s work.”
After portray Felix, Rob grew to become identified for his quirky portraits of cats, although it was one thing he “just fell into” and one cat was one other.
He painted one in all Gerald the York station cat, former Labour chief Jeremy Corbyn’s cat El Gato and Tango the Tiverton Tesco cat in Devon.
He additionally painted Todmorden’s station cat – a ginger often called each Dinky or Boris – and that portrait can be at Roebuck Home & Garden.
The exhibition in Newsome will run for about three months.
