Portland Fire & Rescue saves 2 cats and a canine from housefire

PORTLAND, Ore. —
Portland Fire & Rescue saved 3 household pets from a housefire Monday morning, the company says.
The fireplace was referred to as in at 9:25 a.m. Firefighters arrived on the home on Alameda Ridge and positioned a hearth within the attic.
As the blaze started to weaken the home’s roof, firefighters established a hose line and reduce holes within the roofing to vent sizzling air and gases. Crews have been apprehensive about members probably falling via the weakened roof, so the command officer needed to crews work strategically.
Firefighters additionally positioned and rescued 2 cats and a canine from the fireplace.
The fireplace was utterly extinguished by crews after the final lingering flames in hard-to-access components of the attic have been put out.
PF&R says that 3 residents and their 3 pets will likely be displaced, and that the reason for the fireplace is at present below investigation.
