Los Angeles is grieving the loss of P-22 and sold-out ticket sales to the “Hollywood Cat’s” February funeral reveals the bond that Angelinos formed with the mountain lion throughout the years as he passed through the Hollywood Hills.

The National Wildlife Federation is hosting the noontimememorial event Feb. 4, at the Greek Theatre 2 days after the memorial was revealed and complimentary tickets were offered on Ticketmaster, it was revealed that the place had actually offered out.

The relationship in between people and the famous cat might be called made complex. P-22 stirred love, wonder, issue, worry … and eventually compassion. Numerous Angelinos outright liked the cat.

P-22 was believed to be 12 years of ages at the time of his death, Dec. 17, 2022. Officials “compassionately euthanized” the mountain lion after he was taken into captivity due to health and injury issues.

The choice to euthanize was based upon health examination results that exposed P-22 was badly underweight with injuries supporting the theory he was struck by a car: a skull fracture, a hurt right eye, herniated organs and a torn diaphragm.

P-22 might be among the most identifiable names for Angelinos in the cat kingdom, aside from Simba.

And where did the name originated from? P means puma, and 22 suggested he was the 22nd cat to get a tracking collar for a research study being performed by National forest Service biologists.

P-22 was not a belonging to his home area, Griffith Park. Around 2012, he left the Santa Monica Mountains for a 50-mile trek, over 2 highways, that landed him in the woodsy Griffith Park location. P-22 often made the news, when he consumed a koala at the L.A. Zoo, roamed neighborhoods, and in his last days eliminating a chihuahua andattacking other pets.

There are reports that the memorial will be livestreamed, however we are waiting for main verification. Updates will supplied as info can be found in.
