An Isle of Wight woman whose house was badly damaged by fire is appealing for help to find her missing cat.
Tori Busst, from Ryde, is asking Islanders to keep an eye on out for Smudge.
Thankfully, he managed to escape Tori’s house, on Swanmore Road, unharmed, after fire broke out yesterday (Monday).
However, his owner is not sure where he went and believes he was “very stressed”.

Tori said Smudge is mostly an indoors cat and doesn’t go out often.
She said: “Can I please please ask if everyone can keep their eye out, we are in the Swanmore area.
“Unfortunately we have no home at the moment, but we need to know he is safe and sort out where he can go until we find somewhere to go ourselves.
“Please keep me informed if you see him, we just want him to be safe and sort out a temporary home for him.”
The fire led to Swanmore Road being shut yesterday.
Two appliances, from Ryde Fire Station, were called.
The road was reopened after a couple of hours.
If you see Smudge or know where he could be, email [email protected] and we’ll pass it on to Tori.
