Reduced adoption charges for dogs, cats, puppies and kittens at subsequent weekend’s Adoptapalooza occasion

NEWS RELEASE

GEORGIAN TRIANGLE HUMANE SOCIETY

***********************

The well-liked Georgian Triangle Humane Society (GTHS) adoption occasion, traditionally generally known as Kittypalooza, returns subsequent week with a brand new title – and breed!

The Kittypalooza adoption occasion is making its return as ‘Adoptapalooza’, and now contains decreased adoption charges for dogs and puppies, along with cats and kittens.

“It is no secret that we are seeing more animals arriving at our door, as pet parents struggle with housing insecurity, rising costs (including veterinary care) and access to resources, such as behavioural support,” states Sonya Reichel, GTHS government director. “Since fewer people are opting to bring a dog or puppy into their lives, we thought we would think outside the box a little and include reduced adoption fees for dogs and puppies at this year’s event.  We are seeing dogs staying with us longer than ever before, so we are willing to do whatever it takes to help them find loving homes”.

Adoptapalooza, sponsored by Sherry Rioux and Emma Baker of the Rioux Baker Team at Sotheby’s International Realty Canada, will probably be held Friday, Sept. 8 and Saturday, Sept. 9 between midday and 4 p.m. on the GTHS Animal Centre, 549 Tenth Line in Collingwood. To appeal to potential adopters and encourage adoptions, the GTHS has opted to considerably cut back adoption charges for your entire occasion. Kittens are simply $75 to undertake, cats $50 and all adoption charges for dogs and puppies will probably be decreased by 25 per cent. All adoption charges embody the spay/neuter surgical procedure, up-to-date vaccinations, parasite remedy, and a microchip.

“We are hopeful that this event will be a huge success and that we can find loving families for all the deserving animals, cats and dogs alike, currently in our care,” explains Karen Marsh, GTHS animal centre supervisor. “This will help us relieve our capacity constraints in order to welcome more animals in our community who need us.”

HOW TO ADOPT

Visit the GTHS Animal Centre between midday and 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 8 or Saturday, Sept. 9. The GTHS Animal Centre is situated at 549 Tenth Line in Collingwood and animals for adoption might be seen at gths.ca/animals-for-adoption/ previous to the occasion.
