A police officer was praised for saving a new child cat from a North Carolina car parking zone.

A new child kitten was discovered “with no mother in sight” — then a North Carolina officer stepped in.
The Smithfield Police Department stated the newborn animal was seen alone exterior a Speedway fuel station, with its umbilical twine nonetheless hooked up. When an officer received to the scene, he helped the cat discover a secure place to reside.
“(The officer) cut the umbilical cord and held the kitten as he drove to the police department, making sure the kitten stayed warm,” police wrote Sept. 11 on Facebook.
