CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WEAU) – Its an age old joke, cat caught in a tree. One skittish kitty was so frightened by a storm that he climbed up a tree and didn’t come down for two days.

Owner of Harvey’s Tree Care, Eric Fouts mentioned he acquired a name from a good friend on Wednesday, to assist save a cat from being caught in a tree for over 2 days in wet climate.

When he acquired there, the entire course of took round 10 minutes. And he knew precisely what to do

“Normally, I usually hand climb it, but it was kind of wet out and I decided to take our track lift over there and and use that. And luckily I did because the cat did not want to come out of the tree at first,” mentioned Fouts.

“He walked over. He was on the edge of a branch, and he walked over to me after like 2 minutes. When a cat’s in a tree. They’re like clinging on, he had all his claws too, so it was a little bit to get it off the tree.”

And the cat was then moved to the Chippewa Humane Association the place he was fittingly named “Oak”.

“He’s a very friendly cat. He didn’t seem fazed by being stuck in a tree for a couple of days. He’s perfectly healthy, you know, just a little hungry,” mentioned Shelter Manager, Sam Wojcik.

And they’re grateful for Harvey’s Tree Care for being so useful.

“I’m sure it expedited the process, getting the cat out of the tree and definitely the cat is in better shape now that he’s out of the tree. If he would have been there a couple more days, who knows what kind of shape he would have been in,” mentioned Wojcik.

And Fouts cause for chipping in? All as a result of he wished the cat to be okay.

“It makes you feel good after helping any animal. This one just happened to be a cat, but it was stranded up in there for 2 days and it was raining. I mean, it’s not as cold as it could be, but still soaking wet outside,” mentioned Fouts.

“I don’t even charge for it because I don’t feel that’s the owner’s fault, if the cat gets out. So I just do it to help them out.”

Fouts mentioned reaching out to native tree companies is likely one of the finest options for serving to a cat get out of a tree.
