She made waves at last year’s Met Gala with her viral celestial-themed appearance. And this year, Indian businesswoman and socialite Natasha Poonawalla’s geometric ode to Karl Lagerfeld is the talk of the town on among style’s greatest night when again.

On Monday night, Poonawalla, 41, made a look at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art in a mirrored Schiaparelli dress with the corset formed like a cat’s ears — a nod to Lagerfeld’s renowned feline Choupette.

Themed Karl Lagerfeld: A Line Of Beauty, this year’s gala — among the most photographed occasions worldwide for its head-turning red carpet looks — and exhibit is an homage to the late designer and his impact.

Poonawalla’s wasn’t the only appearance that carried Choupette. Actor Jared Leto showed up in a head-to-toe cat outfit, while Grammy-winning rap artist Doja Cat used a silver hooded Oscar de la Renta dress, total with cat ears and feline facial prosthetics.

Last year, Poonawalla took out all the stops participating in the gala in a golden sari by Indian designer Sabyasachi, coupled with an elaborate Schiaparelli Couture bodice that curved over her head. The appearance was accessorised with custom-made Sabyasachi Fine Jewellery pieces, and much in keeping with in 2015’s style Gilded Glamour.

Styled by Anaita Shroff Adajania and curtained by sari specialist Dolly Jain, the appearance was among the most spoken about of the night.

“To be able to witness such an iconic fashion-meets-art moment in New York, and be a small part of it feels truly surreal,” Jain composed on Instagram. “Between the flowing drape of her bespoke embroidered gold Sabyasachi sari and the architectural lines of her armour-esque gold metallic Schiaparelli couture bustier, Natasha strikes a note that is both feminine yet strong, bold yet beautiful.”

Poonawalla is the executive director of the Serum Institute of India, the world’s biggest producer of vaccines, and the better half of Indian billionaire Adar Poonawalla. A routine at the Met Gala, she is called much for her design options as her jet-setting way of life and celeb pals, typically identified at a few of the greatest style occasions all over the world.

Other Indians stars who participated in the Met Gala consisted of Bollywood star Alia Bhatt, in a gown by Nepalese-American designer Prabal Gurung, and Priyanka Chopra, who used Valentino.
