More than 200 cats and kittens shall be moved from a single property in northern British Columbia to the care of the B.C. Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in one of many society’s largest intakes of rescued animals in recent years, it says.

Eileen Drever, senior officer with the society, says the B.C. SPCA turned concerned after a request for help from the animals’ guardian, who stated he was feeling overwhelmed together with his scenario.

“We despatched workers out to his property. And when requested what number of cats he had, I feel he stated it was like counting bubbles in boiling water,” Drever stated. “He did not know. So he is estimating roughly 280.”
