The Arizona Humane Society is about to open a brand new shelter and hospital facility in Phoenix, increasing the shelter’s veterinary hospital providers in addition to kennel capability to serve the Valley 24 hours a day, seven days per week.

Located at 5501 E. Van Buren St. in Phoenix, the Rob and Melani Walton Papago Park Campus will exchange the shelter’s Sunnyslope Campus.

Arizona Humane Society President and CEO, Dr. Steven Hansen, stated the Sunnyslope Campus is not going to shut its doorways for good when the Papago location opens. Instead, the shelter plans to rework and reopen Sunnyslope as a full-service veterinary hospital.

In 2021, the nonprofit broke floor on the brand new facility in Phoenix. The Papago Park Campus would be the Humane Society’s third adoption location, an addition to the Nina Mason Pulliam South Mountain Campus and PetSmart Scottsdale places.

The Rob and Melani Walton Papago Park Campus shall be a full-service veterinary hospital in addition to an adoption location. The facility can have a little bit over 350 cat kennels, 200 canine kennels, and 35 critter kennels between the hospital and adoption areas.

Echo Coffee has partnered with the Arizona Humane Society since 2021, donating 1% of all proceeds to the shelter. The Echo Coffee location within the foyer of the Papago Park Campus will proceed this partnership in donating 1% of its proceeds to the shelter.
