DOZENS of lovely cats within the care of Cats Protection in Glasgow shall be in search of their eternally houses within the New Year.

Around 50 cats are at present within the care of the charity throughout the town, with adoptions having been paused from December 18 till the start of 2024.

Kira Morrison, deputy supervisor at Glasgow South Homing Centre, joined Cats Protection in November following a profession in hospitality administration and says to this point it’s been “nice”.

She was impressed to use for a task after she adopted her personal cat Layla from the charity in June.

She defined: “Everyone was so useful and supportive.

“They do comply with up calls and once I received my cat I assumed ‘this is a great organisation’.

“When I noticed they had been hiring I had had such a optimistic expertise getting my very own cat I assumed ‘I’d wish to be part of that’.”

Kira says her favorite a part of the job, in addition to spending time with all of the cats, is feeling such as you’re doing one thing to assist each them and folks.

She continued: “It’s pretty seeing cats going away to their new houses and folks are available in so excited.

“It’s pretty seeing individuals coming like ‘I’m right here to choose up a kitten’ with a smile on their faces.”

On Christmas Day employees even cooked up a particular meal for them.

Kira

Kira is a pleasant black and white cat who has been within the care of Cats Protection for a while however has solely had one software to this point.

Kira mentioned of her namesake: “She’s completely pretty and such a sweetheart.

Lucky

Adventurous Lucky is a beautiful tabby cat who’s in search of an outside or rural home with no different pets.

He is filled with power and desires a home with area to roam and discover.

Kira mentioned: “He doesn’t get on very properly with different animals within the neighbourhood so he wants a farm home or stables so he has all of the area to roam.

“He’s been right here fairly a very long time as a result of he got here in together with his jaw wired shut as a result of it was damaged and that has an extended restoration time so we’re actually hoping to seek out him a home.

“He is gorgeous.”

Vega

Vega is an older cat who loves consideration and would make an excellent companion.

Kira mentioned: “No one appears curious about him, I believe as a result of he’s a bit older and appears like he’s been via the wars.

“He got here in as a result of there have been different animals in his family he wasn’t getting alongside very properly with so his proprietor gave him to us.”

Cats Protection Glasgow South Homing Centre is situated at Unit 3, 47 Haggs Road, Glasgow and is open Wednesday to Monday from 11am to 3pm.
