The ‘Beast of Bolton’ may very well be again in response to a canine walker who noticed a big black cat in Egerton on Tuesday morning.

Robyn Rimmer was out on a canine walk in Egerton at 11.30am when she noticed the cat in a subject.

She mentioned: “I was off Cox Green Lane up Dimple Hall Lane, and I was looking down onto the field.

“It was definitely a big cat, it turned and looked at me, but I didn’t want to go down as I had three small dogs.”

This isn’t the primary time that a big black cat has been noticed in Bolton, with a sighting in 2017 in Little Lever and one other in 2015 in Farnworth.

Robyn added: “I was with my friend, but he couldn’t see it, I was telling him to look as it was massive and definitely not a normal cat.

“I could tell by the shape of the ears, and I was stood quite far away from it.”

The first recognized sighting was again in 2006 when the then head of English at Rumworth School, Anne Wright, mentioned she noticed the creature as she appeared out of the bed room window of her home in Spring Meadows, off Radcliffe Road in Darcy Lever.

After three years, the beast was again in 2009, when Peter Wood, of Poulton Avenue, Breightmet, noticed the animal in Leverhulme Park.

Around the identical time, Barry Calvert mentioned he noticed it close to the Schoenstatt Shrine, in Kearsley.

In October 2010, Hollands Nurseries employee Barbara Cooke she noticed a panther-like animal in a subject in Bromley Cross.
