ROME, Ga. — Deputies in Floyd County detained a man after they state he purposefully and maliciously killed a cat, then produced a panic by tossing a phony pipeline bomb into a business.
On July 25, deputies state Zachary Ky Murphy, 31, purchased a cat from an animal store, and less than 2 hours after buying it, the cat was discovered on another individual’s property, dead and severely scorched.
According to the Rome Police Department, on the exact same day, Murphy tossed a black round cylindrical metal container that simulated a pipeline bomb into Alpha Smoke Shop and after that rapidly fled from the business.
