Mrs. Lizzie Catherine Scott Dye86, was born in Iredell County on November 28, 1936, to the late Dewitt Dave Scott and Lizzie Irene Moten Scott. She left this life on Monday, June 19, 2023, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
Lizzie, passionately referred to as “Cat” by her friends and family, participated in Iredell County Schools and retired from Holly Farms. She was a loyal member of Higher Ground Baptist Church.
In addition to her moms and dads, she was preceded in death by her partner, James Charles Dye; Juanita Newland, Clarence Moten, and Ricky S. Mayes.
She delegates value the memories of her life her kids, Kathy Dye, Shelia (Larry) Baham, Perry (Cassandra) Dye, and Larry (Katonia) Dye; grandchildren, Anthony (Emma) Dye, Pamela Chambers, Tyrone Dye, Joseph Dye, Lavette Seymour, Rudy (Tameka) Seymour, Larry (Danielle) Dye Jr, Randy Dye, Brad Mayfield, Brandon Dye, Todd Mayfield, and Charles Mayfield; 20 fantastic grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; 3 nieces, Terry Smith, Debra Borders, and Joni Newland; and a host of other loved ones, church family, and pals.
Celebration of Life services will be hung on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Rutledge and Bigham Mortuary. Visitation will be from 12 to 1 p.m. at the funeral service home. Jerry Miller will be officiating, and Reverend John Mott will provide the eulogy. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Baptist Church Cemetery.
