ISLIP, NY — An Islip man is accused of trapping a cat after which abandoning the cat on the grocery store, the Suffolk County SPCA mentioned.
SPCA detectives charged Michael Vitucci, Jr., 67, with trapping a male black cat from close to his trailer park home on Main Street in Islip on or about February 9, officers mentioned.
Vitucci Jr. the transported the cat and launched it at a Shop Rite Supermarket positioned on Sunrise Highway in Bay Shore, the SPCA mentioned.

On Friday, Vitucci Jr. was charged by SPCA detectives with abandonment, a misdemeanor, the SPCA mentioned; he’s scheduled to look at First District Court in Central Islip on March 7.
In addition, Suffolk County SPCA detectives are canvassing the world in search of one other black cat that can also be lacking from Main Street in Islip, presumably in reference to the case, officers mentioned. The cat proprietor continues to seek for his “beloved cat” Clyde, the SPCA mentioned.
