‘Kitnapping’: Cat rescue charity uses $1,500 benefit for feline taken from New York City adoption occasion

A cat rescue not-for-profit in New York is using a $1,500 money benefit for the safe return of a kitten that was apparently abducted from an adoption occasion in Manhattan over the weekend.

The Fabulous Feline, a 501(c)(3) based in Valley Stream on Long Island, is using the benefit after their cat, Sprout, was taken Sunday from a Petco Love adoption occasion in Union Square, according to regional PIX11.

“It all took place so quickly that I didn’t even recognize it took place,” Pat Irizarry informed the outlet, keeping in mind that she and her partner went to the hectic occasion with all of their cats safely secured cages.

“It wasn’t till 2 witnesses informed me that I understood our kitten was taken; somebody had actually cut the zip ties and eliminated it from the cage,” she said.

A witness apparently snapped an image of the supposed pink-clad cat-napper, which is on the organization’s Facebook page. Irizarry likewise submitted an authorities report with the NYPD.

“I was so upset, I wasn’t in the best mindset,” Irizarry informed PIX11. “Sprout was just 4 months old, and I had actually hand-fed that kitten and monitored it. She was born from a litter of 3 kittens and just 2 endured; among her brother or sisters was stillborn.”

Irizarry explained to the outlet that her not-for-profit is little which she spends for lots of expenditures herself while likewise depending on contributions.

The adoption charges for The Fabulous Feline’s cats – all of which are microchipped, immunized and purified or sterilized – variety from $125 to $200.
