Jellyfish Pictures has acquired the rights to presenter Dermot O’Leary’s e book sequence Toto The Ninja Cat.
The VFX and animation studio’s Originals division – which covers authentic children and household content material – will now be chargeable for the event, rights administration, financing and business exploitation of the title. Jellyfish has centered on bolstering its Originals division in recent instances, and its inaugural authentic sequence, Stan & Gran, co-produced with Jollywise Media, was not too long ago greenlit by Milkshake! UK and goes into manufacturing early 2024.
Illustrated by Nick East, Toto The Ninja Cat is impressed by O’Leary’s personal cats and tells the story of Toto, {a partially} sighted cat with razor-sharp senses, a nostril for hazard and a crime-busting spirit of journey. It can be tailored into an animated comedy sequence with O’Leary as govt producer alongside Dee Koppang O’Leary, whose credit embody Bridgerton, The Crown, The Split and Rivals.
The deal was negotiated by Karen Lawler, head of media rights & audio at Hachette Children’s Group, and Natalie Llewellyn, managing director of animation & originals at Jellyfish Pictures.
