The activities planner at Old Charlton House in Cowes, Debbie Webb, had actually identified the shenanigans of Aurelius and his “brothers” Spartacus and Tiberius on the Isle of Cats Facebook page.
She connected, and a check out was set up, with Kieron and Vicky Cooney bringing Aurelius to come and go to the homeowners.
Hearing there was a cat in the building, the homeowners gathered to the lounge, where they all said on how stunning and well-behaved he was.
He was a success, bringing smiles to the faces of all who satisfied him.
When somebody ends up being a care home homeowner, they frequently need to bid farewell to their family pets, so everybody was thrilled to engage with Aurelius.
Resident Ann said: “It was wonderful to be able to stroke a cat again. He is so soft.”
Debbie said: “Interacting with animals has a positive influence on the wellness and psychological health of our homeowners, and it is an opportunity to be able to provide these experiences for our homeowners.
“I would like to thank the Cooney’s for allowing the delightful Aurelius to visit and giving up their time to come. It really meant a lot to our residents.”
