Siblings Lottie (26) and Ed Hodson (25), from Wiltshire in England, were driving to the Crown and Anchor in Findhorn with friend Bella Firth (25) when Ed identified the animal.

Ed initially saw it at around 8.30pm on Sunday, May 7, while the trio were driving on the A96, near the entryway to Transition Town Forres. When they returned minutes later on it had to do with 100 lawns down the roadway, Lottie said.

The 2 ladies initially believed Ed was joking – however chose to see what he was discussing.

“When increased to the roundabout and reversed,” Lottie said. “We didn’t think him, however then all 3 people saw it.

“It was a substantial black cat, a huge cat, much larger than a labrador, with an actually long tail.

“Sometimes when a wild cat is reproduced with a domestic cat they are larger. But this was so huge that I truly believe it was a panther.”

Lottie sent in a picture of the identifying, which she confessed was rough due to taking the picture at range on an iPhone.

“But there was no rejecting what we saw,” she included.

What do you believe? Is this a panther? Have you ever identified something comparable in the Forres or Moray location?
