There are a great deal of weird things that occur in Lubbock, however some things are absolutely weirder than others.
Some things are frantically weird like trampolines flying around town or grassy field dogs living at the regional Taco Bell. But other things are totally under somebody’s control. Many times, they believe they are being amusing when they are actually simply being disrespectful or obnoxious.
A fantastic example of this just recently taken place when somebody chose to shoot a cat with a weapon. The cat, described as Mittens in the initial post about the occurrence on Nextdoor.com, was shot in her back left leg. She attempted to get away under a garage door however was stuck due to the arrow in her leg.
There isn’t much info besides that in the post, however I presume the cat lives and ideally got treatment for the arrow injury. The initial poster said the occurrence took place off of 58th street in between University and Elgin, alerting individuals because location to watch out for somebody wielding a weapon.
I was shocked when I read this, not comprehending why somebody would shoot a cat in the very first location. Whether it is somebody’s outside cat or a roaming, it is not fine to shoot an animal like that. You aren’t in the forest hunting deer, you remain in the middle of Lubbock, shooting a random cat on the street.
I can just envision it was done by some careless teen that most likely shouldn’t have a weapon to begin with. I simply hope they don’t target any longer animals in the location which the poor cat is fine.
