HOLLAND, MI — Firefighters had been capable of rapidly extinguish a bed room fireplace and save a household pet in Holland Saturday.
At about 11:56 a.m. Sept. 16, firefighters from the Holland Department of Public Safety responded to a report of smoke inside a residence within the 100 block of West fortieth Street in Holland.
Crews arrived on scene to discover a working fireplace within the bed room of a single-story residence, fireplace officers stated in a information launch.
Crews positioned the supply of the hearth and extinguished the flames about 10 minutes after arriving, officers stated.
Firefighters searched the smoke-filled residence and had been capable of finding a cat that had been within the construction on the time of the hearth. The cat was saved and is in good well being, officers stated.
No occupants of the residence or responders had been injured within the fireplace. Crews remained on scene till round 2 p.m. for air flow and air monitoring, officers stated.
Flame injury was confined to the room the place the hearth began and the contents of that room, officers stated. The explanation for the hearth is undetermined presently and is beneath investigation.
