On Feb. 14 at around 2:13 a.m., the Hillsborough Township Police Department were contacted us to 29 Chetwood Court off Raider Boulevard for a report of a structure fire.

Emergency responders discovered the townhouse’s front deck and living-room totally swallowed up in flames and heavy smoke, said Hillsborough Police Corporal Christopher McMinn.
The townhouse and surrounding systems were left.
“Firefighters snuffed out the fire expeditiously,” said McMinn.
The property owner had non-life-threatening burns and cuts to both feet and was required to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset for treatment.
The property owner’s dog and cat were caught inside the home and recuperated. Unfortunately, the dog and cat struggled with extreme smoke inhalation and passed away, said McMinn.
The fire is ruled out suspicious however stays under examination by investigators from the Hillsborough Township Police Department and the Hillsborough Township Bureau of Fire Safety.
