This is a plea, for the Humane Society, for aid with the big spring increase of homeless cats and kittens.
Helping would include taking care of or promoting a pregnant mom, or a mom with kittens, promoting them up until the kittens are 8 weeks old and/or 2 pounds, when they are gone back to the shelter, spayed/neutered, and set up for adoption.
You will get all the veterinary care required, plus food and litter, for the 8 to 9 weeks you will have them.
On May 5, I received a really pregnant mom, who then provided 6 kittens 4 days later on. It was a definitely fantastic experience, enjoying the mom go through the procedure of raising her children, with almost no help from me. They are now 4½ weeks old and the prettiest things I’ve ever seen.
If this seems like something you can do, call the shelter at 360-385-3292, or call me at 206-755-0609, and I will explain the entire procedure to you. The just tough part is returning them to the shelter, due to the fact that you will end up being connected to the babies, however you will understand that you provided the chance to live a good life. Please call.
