SHELTON, Conn. (WFSB) – A hairless cat who was taken back in January will be reunited with her owner later on today.
On January 22nd, Shelton Police reacted to a theft in a hotel room.
There were no obvious indications of break-in however a number of products were taken, consisting of the victim’s hairless cat Princess.
Two individuals were apprehended in February, 20-year-old Zyair Lopez and 24-year-old Toni Douglas-Alves, after a comprehensive examination.
Unfortunately, Princess was not discovered.
The set were charged with theft 3rd degree, larceny 3rd degree, conspiracy to devote theft 3rd degree, and conspiracy to devote larceny 3rd degree.
This week, a lady from Massachusetts called investigators stating she purchased a hairless cat in Bridgeport and discovered it might have been the taken cat, Princess.
Detectives met the female today and she turned over the cat.
Police were then able to validate that it was Princess.
Police state Princess will be reunited with her owner later on today.
“We appreciate the integrity of the female who purchased the cat for $1,300 and notified police once she learned the cat was stolen so the animal could go back to the rightful owner,” authorities said.
Detectives are still examining the situations concerning the sale of the taken cat.
