Grammys style: Lizzo, Doja Cat, Styles wow on red carpet

NEW YORK CITY– Lizzo wowed in a brilliant orange Dolce & Gabbana bathrobe decorated with flowers and a big hood as the wild and crazy Grammys red carpet did not dissatisfy Sunday. Scruffy streetwear, Tee shirts and jeans combined with blinged-out couture, wild patterns and lots of skin.

Lizzo strolled gingerly as she browsed a heavy, long train that left her with little peripheral vision. After some time, she dropped her bathrobe to her shoulders to expose a busty sequin bodice dress below in a softer orange. The coat was totally embroidered with handmade silk flowers, and the dress was silk with crystal mesh Swarovski information. She equipped with crystal decorated heels and large fingerless gloves.

“Lizzo is a floral garden fantasy in her ruffle orange 3D robe and matching corset dress underneath,” stated Holly Katz, a stylist and host of the Style Criminal offenses podcast. “And we love to hear her roar!”

Taylor Swift, possibly carrying her Midnights age, used a long two-piece sparkly skirt with a high-neck, long-sleeve crop top, all by Roberto Cavalli. He is among her preferred designers. It was midnight blue. She included declaration diamond earrings by Lorraine Schwartz, her hair in an updo.

Style fan Harry Styles strolled the carpet in a rainbow harlequin pattern one-piece suit decorated with Swarovski crystals. His low-cut, various colored Egonlab appearance drew cheers. Egonlab is a young brand name out of Paris.

And Cardi B. used bombshell royal blue with substantial shoulders and a headpiece over one eye.

“I’m trying, I’m trying,” she informed professional photographers as she thoroughly strolled down the carpet.

Gatling Gun Kelly, who frequently presses into edgy style, remained in a silver foil fit. It was custom-made Dolce & Gabbana. He was accompanied by Megan Fox in velvety Zuhair Murad. It had a corset bodice and heart embroidered applique.

Sam Smith remained in fire truck red, with Kim Petras and drag queens Violet Chachki and Gottmik in the very same color. Smith used a stovepipe hat with a veil. They, too, used matching gloves, a pattern of the night.

The marathon carpet started with some significant appearances. Doja Cat, constantly pressing her style envelope, appeared in a Latex, one-shoulder and skintight black dress with long matching gloves from Atelier Versace. Bebe Rexha sizzled in hot pink with twists from head to toe and a va-va-voom halter corset, showing that Barbiecore is going strong. The appearance was Moschino by Jeremy Scott.

Kasey Musgraves likewise took the Barbie note with a feathery cape in a lighter pink color over a catsuit.

There were golden crowns (Matt B), glittery mouth bling (Alligator Jesus) and impressive tattoos (Alisha Gaddis). And almost every color on the color wheel was represented.

Slouchy and spacious talked to much of the males, as did an embroidered jeans shorts ensemble for Benny Blanco.

“Who can’t stop talking about Doja Cat donning 30,000 red Swarovski crystals for Paris Fashion Week? Well, she certainly doesn’t disappoint at the Grammys as she totally channeled the queen of darkness,” Katz said. “The Mia Farrow 60′s haircut was a perfect match for this look.”

Viola Davis, on the other hand, finished her EGOT by winning a Grammy at the Grammys pre-telecast event in a Naeem Kahn red, silver and blue tiered sequin short-sleeved dress.

Shania Twain isn’t up for a Grammy. She’s not providing. That, she stated, released her to have a good time with style. Twain’s hair was red and her Harris Reed wide-belled pantsuit was decorated with substantial black polka dots versus white. She topped it off with a towering, matching wide-brim hat.

“Here I am with all my new fun things to wear,” she stated. Reed is a young British American designer she wished to support. Her objective: “I just wanted to add some pop and cheer.”

Twain, stated Katz, “definitely scored in the avant-garde category but does sort of look like she just stepped out of Alice in Wonderland.”

Laverne Cox WAS “Wakanda Forever” in her custom-made strapless leather Kim Kassas decorated warrior figure gown and African-inspired fashion jewelry, Katz stated. “Paying homage to the African culture through fashion is always in style.”

Cox’s leather gown by Kim Kassas honors the vision of the late style editor Andre Leon Talley. There was another ambiance on her mind: “Egyptian/Cleopatra.”

Prabal Gurung worked up a customized warm yellow try to find Kelsea Ballerini with light-as-air back pieces she unfurled on the carpet. Amanda Gorman remained in a leading color of the night: black. She twirled her long, large overlay used over a mini-dress on the red carpet.

Ballerini’s appearance, Katz stated, was “so ethereal and dreamy on the red carpet.”
