‘Cat Video Fest 2023’ will accompany the Department of Art’s open home the night time of Thursday, Oct. 19. Tickets are on sale by way of the Elon Box Office with proceeds benefiting an area animal welfare group.

Each yr, “Cat Video Fest” is distributed across the globe, drawing crowds to theaters like catnip. Each displaying raises money for animal welfare organizations.
Department chair Samantha DiRosa has been a “Cat Video Fest” fan for a number of years, visiting downtown Winston-Salem’s a/perture cinema to catch a displaying every fall. She noticed alternative in combining a displaying at Elon with an artwork division occasion to attract college students and most people to Arts West, in addition to assist native animal welfare teams.
Elon’s screening shall be at 7 p.m. within the Arts West car parking zone, 406 W. Haggard Ave. Tickets are available by way of the Elon Box Office and are $7 for college students, $10 for school and workers and $15 for most people. A portion of the proceeds will go to Sparkle Cat Rescue of Burlington, a non-profit, 501(c)(3) cat rescue that’s 100% volunteer- and foster home-based.
The artwork division’s open home begins at 6 p.m. at Arts West with raffles, video games and prizes, galleries open to the general public, scholar artwork on show and school readily available to preview winter and spring programs. The first 50 attendees get free tacos.
