Foard carpentry college students assemble cat shelters for felines

The college students of Fred T. Foard High School’s Carpentry Class are making a significant influence of their group by lending their abilities to assemble shelters for feral colonies and low-income cat dad and mom.

In collaboration with native small business Brews & Blessings and the Cats’ Cradle of NC, these 11 college students have constructed sturdy and weather-resistant shelters to offer a much-needed refuge for cats in want.

With saws buzzing and hammers clinking, the scholars have been onerous at work crafting shelters designed to face up to the weather and luxury vulnerable feline populations. Recognizing the significance of addressing the housing wants of feral and cats in low-income households, these college students have stepped as much as make a distinction within the lives of those animals.

Brews & Blessings, with a brand new location opening May 1 in downtown Hickory (www.brewsandblessings.com), is dedicated to supporting feline welfare and low-income households with cats locally and can distribute the shelters constructed by the carpentry class to areas most wanted. Many of those shelters can be placed in feral communities which are cared for by volunteers with Cats’ Cradle, which serves cats in Burke, Catawba and Caldwell counties.
