MANCHESTER, NH – A fireplace tore by a home on Biron Street on town’s West Side Thursday afternoon. Although a cat was rescued by firefighters and revived on the scene, a second cat perished within the blaze, which left the home a complete loss, in line with hearth officers.
Description of Incident: Fire crews have been dispatched at about 2 p.m. for a building hearth at 133 Biron Street. Goffstown Fire Dept. had 1 engine on the scene as a result of location close to the city/metropolis border. Crews had heavy hearth on the primary and second flooring of a 1.5-story residential home.
The entrance porch/roof collapsed within the preliminary levels of the incident. Crews made entry by the rear of the construction and extinguished the hearth on each flooring. The building was searched and located to be away from any occupants; one cat was retrieved from the hearth and revived on scene, and one cat perished.
Companies did an intensive overhaul of the primary and second flooring in addition to aspect A (entrance) of the construction.
Fire Prevention was on scene and the reason for the hearth is beneath investigation.
Red Cross was contacted for 2 displaced adults.
Special Circumstances: Heavy hearth on the 1st and a pair ofnd flooring with collapse of entrance porch/roof on arrival. Main energy drop to the construction burned away from the home and was within the driveway stay.
