Oct. 9 (UPI) — A Boston lady working within the Bank of America Chicago Marathon stopped to rescue a kitten at mile 21, and even ended up discovering the feline a brand new home alongside the route.
Sarah Bohan mentioned she was nearing a private marathon report when she noticed the cowering kitten about 5 miles from the end line.

“It needed to be all of 1 pound,” she instructed CBS Chicago. “Fur was matted and one thing clicked, and I used to be like, ‘This is extra necessary.’ And I bear in mind I the again of my thoughts being like, ‘Your PR [personal record] goes to exit the window. You aren’t going to make it.’ And it was simply an intuition. It was human intuition.”
Bohan mentioned she carried the kitten for a few mile alongside fellow runner Gia Nigro till they encountered some spectators who had been excited to present the kitten a brand new home.
She completed the race with a time of three hours, 31 minutes and 13 seconds, a time Bohan mentioned she was pleased with, despite the fact that it wasn’t a private report.
Bohan, who has two cats of her personal, was appropriately working for Team PAWS Chicago, which raises funds for no-kill shelter PAWS Chicago.
