MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – Seventeen of the over 100 cats discovered living in cages on an Oklahoma property got here in Madison on Wednesday and will be prepared to be embraced quickly, the Dane Co. Humane Society revealed.

The cats, a few of whom are more than 8 years of ages, invested their whole lives caught in their cages. Some of them were discovered living in numerous inches of feces and none were made sterile or sterilized.

After all that, the cats are already coming out of their shells and can’t get sufficient attention or love, the shelter says.

“This was a sad situation for these cats. We know people love animals and they want to help, DCHS’ Lisa Bernard said. “But in a hoarding situation, there’s too many animals for one person to provide the necessary care, attention, and affection, and it can actually cause more harm than good for the animal.”

They are still adjusting to the concept of being held by people, however. Since being rescued, the cats have actually been analyzed numerous times to guarantee they are physically healthy, immunized, and have actually been made sterile or sterilized.

DCHS was not the only shelter in Wisconsin where the cats were taken. They came as part of a transportation of 71 prospective feline buddies trying to find their fur-ever houses in the Badger State. Not all of the cats showing up became part of this specific rescue operation, the shelter kept in mind. In addition to the 17 that were, DCHS likewise took in 5 kittens from another rescue scenario.

“DCHS is happy we could open our doors to provide these cats with shelter and care while we help them find new beginnings with their future families,” Bernard included.

Among the cats who got here are numerous Siamese blends, together with brief, medium, and long hair cats.

The shelter suggests examining its websites at giveshelter.org/adopt to discover when they are prepared for their brand-new home. Other shelters in Wisconsin where the cats were headed are Angel’s Wish in Verona, HAWS in Waukesha, and Green Co. Humane in Monroe.
