MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – A cat was rescued from a duplex owned by the Manhattan Housing Authority after a little late-morning fire broke out.
The Manhattan Fire Department says that simply after 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 25, teams were contacted us to 1006 Pottawatomie Ct. with reports of a house fire.
When authorities showed up, they said they discovered a duplex that had smoke discharging from the structure. A search of the home discovered the renter was not there, nevertheless, a cat was rescued and was dealt with at the scene. The containment of the fire took about 10 minutes.
MFD kept in mind that the fire triggered about $35,000 in damage. The owner of the single-story duplex was noted as the Manhattan Housing Authority.
Officials suggested that the reason for the fire stays under examination.
