NEWPORT BEACH, CA — A regional cat was maximized from utilizing among his 9 lives after being rescued from his burning home by the Newport Beach Fire Department.
The above-garage fire broke out on Friday, June 30, in the 400 block of Heliotrope Avenue. Crews shown up after a next-door neighbor reported seeing smoke originating from the system.

Upon getting here, firemens had the ability to rescue a cat that was alone in the burning system.
“Crews discovered an upstairs system filled with smoke, and a fire at the entrance. Newport Engine 65 rapidly snuffed out the fire, and carried out a search of the residence… the cat was discovered concealing under a bed in a back room.”
No injuries were reported, and Newport Beach animal control offered shelter for the cat up until the owner was available.
“The fire would have been a lot more extreme if not for the prompt call from the next-door neighbor and the fast reaction from fire teams,” a Newport Beach Fire Department declaration checked out.
The reason for the fire is under examination.
