WATERLOO — Firefighters rescued a cat from a burning home on Tuesday morning.
Neighbors referred to as 911 round 10 a.m. after seeing smoke and flames coming from the single-story home at 1125 Downing Ave.
Firefighters stated it appeared nobody was home on the time, and fireplace crews discovered the cat behind a sofa within the smoke-filled residence. Paramedics gave the cat supplemental oxygen, and the pet is anticipated to outlive.
The fireplace seems to have began within the space of the again porch and labored its approach into the home and into an attic house. Firefighters extinguished the flames to maintain the hearth from spreading.
