Despite the efforts of Greater Sudbury Fire Services members, a cat was lost in a Tuesday night house fire at 226 Jogues St.

Crews from New Sudbury, Minnow Lake and Downtown shown up on the scene together with a squadron chief and EMS, in action to reports of smoke coming out of a house.

En path, teams were upgraded that there were numerous callers suggesting an active structure fire, according to Sudbury Professional Fire Fighters.

The engine from New Sudbury got here very first and was met heavy smoke on the 2nd floor. They went into the building and browsed the residence.

The Minnow Lake engine got here, whose team extended a pipe line to reduce the fire.

Meanwhile, the system’s only resident lay far from the residence and showed that there were 2 cats inside the house. Crews discovered both of the cats in their ongoing search of the system, and eliminated them from threat.

One cat was restored, however the other might not be saved.

There were no other reports of injuries reported as an outcome of this event, though the system sustained fire, smoke and water damage.

The reason for the fire is under examination.
