One of the furry, feline, feral mates had dodged the trapping session. “No, she wasn’t caught catnapping!” Jenny Clarke, President of the Association for Protection of Animals Algarve, is laughing. “The one that got away, No.13!” No, she’s not joking. “Anyway all is well, they were SNiP’d and taken back to their sanctuary hidden away. Which leads us to ask. How do you know they have been, you know, ‘Done!’. The Vet will give the cat a checkover before the SNiP operation, and after successfully under the influence, they will also surgically cut the very tip of the ear off. Mm. Sounds a bit ‘dog-eared’. “Well, it’s the only safe and humane way to tell, from a distance whether you have a SNiPee or not.” Agreed. Cats are notoriously troublesome to pay money for, until they need to after all. There are a number of new cat colonies that APAA is coping with. They appear to pop-up all over the place.

Talking of which. Diary date. Jolly’ Bar Alvor, Nr. Campsite. Friday sixteenth February 11am-2pm. Soft Furnishings donated by Holiday Inn. Fiona’s Fi-line clothes assortment, one-off design, handmade jewelry. Gill Goode’s lovely paintings. If you’ll be able to’t make the pop-ups go to APAA’s charity retailers in Alvor and Silves. At the second filled with duvets, rugs, and ironing units. Hospitality trays. Why not get a pair, for the visitor rooms and your individual, work room? Time to browse and purchase goodies for items as effectively. Everything for the home, backyard and your furry good friend too!

APAA’s un-furry mates, Gary and Wendy at Pet Park are happy to announce that their lodger ‘Lady’ aka ‘Jess’ might have discovered a endlessly home. Gary had contact from the proprietor of two of her dogs staying at PP on hols. Saw a photograph of them taking part in with Jess on Facebook Aha! Trial run I assume. “Fingers crossed!” Jenny has been taking up the Sponsorship of the deserted lodgers. “We still have a little ‘Dusty’, and a rather splendid ‘Rafa’ to feed and give creature comforts to.” Apparently, when ‘Nina’ handed on, a short while in the past, her sponsor determined to tackle ‘Lilly’. Really. “The bills don’t stop, they still need vet care and costs as we know are rising.” Every little helps. More than one sponsor is allowed.

Watch out for the Ferragudo Car Boot Sale, each second Sunday of the month 8am-12noon. Diary! tenth March. Coming up quickly are Convento’bio Lagoa and ‘O Tasco’. APAA AGM, March. Quiz lunches are on the horizon for April. Lots extra!
