Fox Company reports that Caterpillar is dealing with more than $145,000 in fines from OSHA due to the fact that a worker fell under a pot of molten iron over the summer season and was “right away incinerated.”
Steven Dierkes, the 39-year-old staff member of Cat’s Mapleton, Illinois, foundry, fell under an 11-foot-deep pot of molten iron heated up to more 2,000 F. It was just his ninth day on the task, OSHA stated.
Caterpillar has 15 company days charges to comply, ask for a conference, or contest the findings.
