The St Georges veterinary surgical treatment in St Georges, held a fundraising day with raffles, a tombola and a lot of homemade cakes and knitted presents to purchase.

The day raised £295 for the Clent View cat and kitten rescue organisation, based in Halesowen.

Emma Bailey from the charity said she could not thank those to contributed enough.

Although the charity is based in Halesowen, it has links to St Georges veterinary centre through its sis veterinarian in Halesowen, part of The Lockwood Group.

The charity has actually been running for 3 years – formed throughout lockdown.

Emma said the cost of living crisis was a genuine issue on lots of levels.

“We have actually had individuals call us stating that they can not longer manage to keep their cats since of the cost of food and veterinarian expenses,” she said.

“And we have actually seen that less individuals are stepping forward to adopt cats and kittens once again since of the increasing expenses of whatever.

“Sadly when we have lots of our rescue cats and kittens, we can’t help.”

The charity presently has in between 40-50 cats and kittens searching for brand-new houses.

Fundraising for the charity is likewise more vital than ever.
