Canford Heath councillor Sean Gabriel called the occurrences “evil” and motivated homeowners to report any details to the cops.

Cllr Sandra Moore said they were “horrible killings”, which anybody might report anything to her if they did not wish to speak straight to the cops.

Poole Neighbourhood Policing Team think that the 2 deaths and a 3rd event where a cat was hurt in 2015 belong to a series.

The very first cat went missing out on last August from Hythe Road, prior to returning alive in October, with comparable “disturbing” injuries to the 2 cats discovered dead last month.

One cat was found in Chaldon Road, where it lived, on January 4, and the other was discovered on January 12 on Yarrow Road.

Officers’ working presumption is that a human was most likely associated with each event, based upon evaluation by veterinarians.

Dorset Echo:

Cllr Gabriel motivated anybody to report anything suspicious, no matter how little, and to inspect their CCTV cams for any video footage.

“They may think it’s only a little thing but when the police add it up to a bigger picture it may lead to someone getting caught and apprehended,” Cllr Gabriel said.

“I just feel very sorry for the owners of the cats that have been affected.”

Cllr Moore said that anybody who did not wish to go straight to the cops might report any details to her.

“I’ve got a cat myself and I’ve been liaising with the police. A sergeant at Poole police was taking an interest in this case, and she has been working on it,” Cllr Moore said.

“Everyone’s being asked to report in any occurrences that they believe appropriate.

“But some people don’t like to report them directly to the police, and I’ve offered to be a go-between so they can tell me and then I’ll report it into the police.”

Dorset Echo:

Cllr Gabriel included: “It’s not a reflection on Canford Heath, the actions of possibly one person, however the neighborhood requires to come together and report any issues since it’s stunning behaviour.

“How can anyone be so evil to do that to defenceless animals, it’s unbelievable.”
