Cat enthusiasts who are considering growing their family can bring home a brand-new feline for half of the routine adoption charge at the BC SPCA
June is National Adopt-a-Cat month, according to the BC SPCA, and to help more cats discover brand-new houses half the cost of adoption will be waved later on today.
“Cats come into the BC SPCA’s care for a number of reasons,” the society’s Adrienne McBride said in a media release.
“Some are strays, some are surrendered because their guardians are moving to homes where pets aren’t allowed, or they just aren’t able to care for them. Cats are also seized by our animal protection officers.”
All B.C. SPCA areas will be using the affordable rate from Thursday, June 22, up until Sunday, June 25.
“Many people aren’t aware of just how affectionate and loving a cat can be,” McBride said. “They are often a great companion to other animals in the home as long as the proper introductions are made.”
