Disney’s The Aristocats Kids is being purchased to life on the Theatre Royal by the Nelson Youth Theatre. I had the pleasure of attending their first present and was delighted alongside the young viewers by the condensed kid-friendly adaptation of the basic Disney movie.

With a run time of simply 45 minutes, this present is completely suited to younger youngsters with catchy songs and memorable characters.

The standout efficiency of the present belonged to Catherine Kissell who performed Roquefort the mouse. With her superb stage presence and impeccable timing she purchased this endearing character to life and stored the viewers wanting extra.

One minor critique was the selection of costumes for the principle cats. It was disappointing that they didn’t embody ears, whiskers and tails, as these particulars may have added extra authenticity to the characters and enhanced the general visible enchantment. However, the actors’ efficiency compensated for this shortcoming.

Maia Eagle, who performed Duchess, portrayed the swish and chic mom cat with grace and attraction. Her singing voice was candy and soothing, completely becoming her character. The chemistry between Duchess and her three kittens, Marie (Lily Williams), Berlioz (Natalia Piemontesi), and Toulouse (Giancarlo Piemontesi), was heartwarming, and their performances added depth to the story.

The enjoyable of a dwell stage efficiency is that the viewers will get to take part and this was evident by the booing that ensued when Edgar (Amelia Scowen) bought as much as no good and by the cheers for the mischievous O’Malley (Tane Williams).
