World, fulfill Biscuit — a sweet cat about whom there’s more than little to like.
But Biscuit’s huge heart isn’t the only aspect of her that’s extra-large.
This week, staff at Idaho’s West Valley Humane Society required to social networks to make a sad statement. Just a year after being embraced from the shelter, her family returned her — and in a less-than-ideal state.
Biscuit had actually been an obese cat when she was embraced. And absolutely nothing at all had actually altered.
“We need to get real about Biscuit — she weighs just under 24 pounds, which is grossly obese for a cat,” the shelter composed. “It will shorten her life if she doesn’t lose about half her body weight.”
Now, Biscuit was when again available for adoption, however this time shelter staff put additional focus on what being a caring family pet parent involves — which’s assisting her accomplish her healthiest self.
“Even though she is adorable, we don’t want her to be adopted again because chonky is cute,” the shelter composed. “We want her to be adopted because her new owner is completely in love with her and will do whatever it takes to get this girl to a healthy weight. This means a healthy diet, exercise, regular vet visits, and of course lots of love and support.”
The shelter made it clear: Biscuit would be a job. But a deserving one, certainly.
Shelter volunteer Sue Anderson, who runs Black Cat Photography, held a little image shoot with Biscuit to show prospective adopters, together with the message about what her perfect life would resemble moving forward.
And, sure enough, it worked.
Within a couple of brief hours of publishing about her, Biscuit’s brand-new journey started.
“Good news! Biscuit was just adopted,” Anderson informed The Dodo. “She was adopted this morning, and I am hopeful that we’ll soon be able to post her ‘after’ photos, showing a slimmed-down, healthy cat.”
Now, Biscuit has a brand-new home — and with any luck, she will quickly have the ability to live life to her max. Anderson understands that, with the best support, she has it in her to get where she requires to be.
“Biscuit is outgoing and curious, and I can see it in her face that this girl just wants to have fun!” Anderson said.
