‘No one is whistling, no one says anything disturbing. People just let me walk in peace here,’ she added.

She went on to say she has been to Queensland, Victoria and suburbs all over Sydney and has not been cat called once.

And while many Aussies put it down to them being ‘good people’ others said they refrained because they could get fired from their jobs for inappropriate behaviour.

‘They get fired on the spot if they do it here,’ one woman said.

‘My husband sent home an apprentice because he wouldn’t stop doing it, cancelled his contract on the same day and everything,’ another added.

One site manager agreed and said it is ‘super rare’ now.

‘I would tell them not to come again. Especially if it was a big job with lots of foot traffic,’ he said.

‘I quit and haven’t seen it again or since,’ he said.

But some people had some disturbing claims of their own.

‘No they do cat call you, only when you are underage though,’ one woman said.

‘That’s true. I have only ever been cat called in my school uniform, years ago,’ said another.

‘I have experienced a lot in Sydney, all over, but it stopped when I turned 18,’ said another.

One woman said she thought cat calling was a myth, but Sophie explained people will even honk or yell things out of their car windows.

One man said that there are so many hot people in Australia’ there is no point cat calling as it would have to go on all day.
