A number of cats and dogs rescued from unlivable circumstances inside Pa. lodge room: experiences

Bucks County SPCA Humane Law Enforcement Officers got here to the rescue of a number of animals on Wednesday, liberating them from deplorable hoarding circumstances inside a small lodge room in Feasterville-Trevose.

“We were actually notified by the hotel staff. They were doing a routine inspection of the room and that’s when they discovered that there were all of these animals in one room with pretty poor sanitation,” Cindy Kelly, the director of communications on the Bucks County SPCA, mentioned to 6ABC.

BCSPCA officers served a warrant upon arrival. Once inside, they discovered 33 cats and three dogs roaming freely within the crowded and disgusting circumstances. Feces and urine littered the room, officers mentioned.

The scent inside was mentioned to be so sturdy that SPCA officers claimed their eyes had been burning as they labored to take away the animals.

“Ammonia smell from cat urine, especially in an enclosed space, can get really strong. So it was definitely stinging to the eyes,” Kelly mentioned to the Bucks County Herald.

Images taken whereas within the lodge captured the cats huddled collectively beneath the lodge mattress the place they lived for months, each sources reported.

The animals had been transported to BCSPCA’s Lahaska Shelter and humane society officers have charged the proprietor with animal cruelty.

“He had other outstanding warrants and has since been arrested by the police,” Kelly mentioned to 6ABC.

Currently, the Bucks County SPCA is sheltering the animals between their New Hope and Quakertown places till the animals are prepared for adoption.

According to what Kelly mentioned to 6ABC, the very first thing was to make sure the well being of all animals by treating any medical wants.

Then, the 36 animals are to be spayed and neutered. Afterward, the animals will likely be out there for adoption in two to 3 weeks.
