BALLARD COUNTY, Ky. (KFVS) – A Kevil man and lady are dealing with greater than two dozen counts of animal abuse in Ballard County.
According to the Ballard County Sheriff’s Department, an investigation into animal cruelty at a home within the Kevil metropolis limits led to the arrest of 24-year-old Leah G. Cowen and 23-year-old Matthew Cowen Jr.
Both had been arrested after deputies searched their home on Tuesday, November 7.
The sheriff’s division stated deputies and members of Ballard County Animal Control discovered a number of cats that had been abused and never cared for, together with 4 lifeless cats.
A complete of 25 cats had been taken from the home and placed with numerous nonprofits to get medical therapy.
Leah Cowen and Matthew Cowen Jr. had been booked into the Ballard County Detention Center.
Both had been charged with 29 counts of torture cat with critical bodily harm or demise.
Matthew Cowen Jr. is dealing with a further cost of failure to inform the Department of Transportation of deal with change.
