As the climate warms, the Momoge National Nature Reserve in Zhenlai county of Baicheng metropolis, Northeast China’s Jilin province, has not too long ago seen an inflow of migratory birds.
Wang Kai, 39, a member of the Bird Protection Team in Baicheng, welcomes this busy season.
Since becoming a member of the group in 2018, Wang has repeatedly patrolled the close by forests and wetlands the place birds collect, spending half a day at a time to look at and document their actions, inhabitants numbers and habitat circumstances, which he then studies to the reserve.
The county beforehand suffered from drought, soil desertification, and salinization. To fight these issues, the county targeted on water administration and initiated main restoration initiatives in recent years. The space is now a great habitat for quite a few migratory birds trying to find pure meals and wetland sources every spring and autumn.
“Protecting the ecology and migratory birds can also be a means of defending our personal home,” mentioned Wang. “I’ll proceed to contribute to the ecological safety with my teammates by practical actions.”
