Michelle Poehlmann, the managing director for Bird Haus Farms, told MySA that its swimming hole has a manmade waterfall and is built into a wet weather creek. The swimming hole has a liner underneath to hold water as well. Poehlmann said the water stays cold and is cleaner than the Guadalupe River.
It remains filtered year-round and chlorinated in the summer for crystal-clear water. An oak tree also provides shade to cool off on a hot summer day. There are also rocks lined along the pond and two picnic tables. Poehlmann said there’s also a beach entry. The swimming hole is about 12 feet deep.
The swimming hole is private to the property and the guests who book with Bird Haus Farms. Bird Haus Farms, located at 1025 Texas Oaks, Spring Branch, features four rental homes and an RV area on its 20-acre property. The rental properties range from $100 to $200 a night, depending on the size.
Guests can choose from the Hummingbird Haus (sleeps two), the Texas Perch Haus (sleeps six), the Root Haus (sleeps six), and the Nest (sleeps four). Some of the houses include a hot tub and all come with a kitchen, bathrooms and free WiFi.
